Kyrie Irving practiced "a little bit" on Tuesday, which led Coach K to make this statement, "There is a chance that he (Irving) would play."
Very exciting news for Duke fans, most exciting because Irving could now have a bit of a warm up game against Hampton. I know that there is a chance that Hampton keeps up with Duke and pushes them, but more than likely Duke will have a big lead early. This will allow K to play a bit with line ups again and find what will work best for Duke moving forward with Kyrie. Kyrie may not be at full strength this weekend, he may not be full strength in the entire tournament. Yet if Duke makes it through this weekend, and if Kyrie doesn't tweak anything, Kyrie will have another week prior to the Sweet 16 games to continue to get his confidence back in his toe and his conditioning back to where he'd like.
This will be a very interesting weekend, not only is the NCAA Tournament starting, which is exciting, but now we get to see if Irving can jump back into the rotation for Duke. If Irving does make a seamless transition back into the lineup, whether off the bench or at some point in the starting lineup, Duke may take over as the odds on favorite to win it all.
